2025 November 16
The 2026 ballot for church positions includes Church Trustee, Usher, Microphone Operator, Treasurer and Kitchen Committee. It does not include Fellowship Hall Trustee because that open seat will be filled by Canaan. You will also notice that there are two spaces for Treasurer. Based on input from the Church Trustees, previous Treasurers and the Ministers, it was recommended to begin utilizing a Treasurer and Assistant Treasurer. The division of duties and length of alternating terms will be determined once these two Brothers work together. Position descriptions are on the back side of the ballot. Under general qualifications, it clarifies membership in the Rittman church for at least one year before holding a position, as stated in the Church by-laws. Please return ballots by Sunday, November 30 in the marked box on the table in the dining room lobby. If you did not receive a ballot, please see a Trustee or click here to print a copy.
On Friday, Nov 21 at 7:30 PM at the Fellowship Hall, Bro. Jon Moser will present, "Technology in Our Lives: Opportunities and Cautions." Families of all ages are invited to an engaging presentation exploring the role of technology in our daily lives. Together we’ll highlight the positive ways technology can enhance connection, learning, and faith – while also addressing areas where caution is needed.
Topics include:
• Social Media: Building community and sharing positivity while navigating challenges like comparison and misinformation.
• Privacy: Protecting personal information in an increasingly connected world.
• Artificial Intelligence (AI): How AI tools can support education and creativity, and where discernment is required.
• Other key issues shaping our digital lives.
Come and learn practical tips for using technology wisely, fostering balance, and aligning its use with our values as a church family.
Questions - Ask Bro. Jeff Lanz, Bro. Michael Andras or Bro. Tim Ramsier.
Our next special topics class for students in grades 7-12 is planned for Sunday, Nov 23 during morning service.
It is time to update the church directory for 2026. Letters have been mailed out to confirm your information and are due back Sunday, Nov 30 either electronically or in the box in the lobby. If you know of someone who would like to be added to the directory, please let Bro. Jacob Steiner know. Thank you!
General Christmas Caroling will be held on Tuesday, Dec 2. Please plan to be at the Fellowship Hall at 6:15 PM to depart promptly at 6:30 PM. If you are willing to come and be a song leader for one of the groups that would be helpful and appreciated! If there is anyone you know who would appreciate being caroled to, please reach out to one of the committee members and we will get in contact with them. See Bro. Josh & Sis. Sarah Zollinger or Bro. Kody & Sis. Andrea Gasser with any questions.
HarvestCall’s next large-scale Rebuilding Ministry project will be in Acadia Parish, Louisiana. Acadia Parish in southern Louisiana experienced excessive rainfall in 2025, causing significant damage to houses, some still waiting for help after Hurricanes Laura and Delta in 2020. They are in need of our help to repair and rebuild their homes and lives. HarvestCall will be helping underserved people who suffered loss and are unable to recover on their own. While construction is the obvious activity of this ministry, the primary goal is to share the love of Christ and proclaim the Gospel.
• Forty volunteers are needed each week starting January 11, 2026 and continuing through March 27, 2026. If you find that the weeks are full, put your name on the waitlist so we know that you would like to help.
• Skilled tradesmen AND unskilled workers are needed, as are those with a passion to share the Gospel with those we serve.
• Online registration is required for all volunteers and opens at noon Central time on Wednesday, November 19 at www.harvestcall.org
Singing tonight is at the Mansfield Church at 7:30 PM.
